Effects of Discharge Flow on River DO. Anthropogenic activities use water, which is polluted in multiple ways and then discharged into rivers, streams, lakes, lagoons, oceans and seas; which have been dumps since the beginning of time. The greater the number of discharges, the lower the dissolved oxygen values, since almost anything that falls into the water decreases its dissolved oxygen levels [33].
